Rock Your Kids’ Summer with School of Rock Ultimate Camp

Harper College CE is partnering with the School of Rock Arlington Heights to rock our music program!

School of Rock Ultimate Rock and Roll Performance Camp: In this intensive rock ‘n roll boot camp, you’ll receive small-group instruction from the expert School of Rock and Harper College instructors. Your repertoire comes directly from the School of Rock film starring Jack Black. You’ll learn songs from the Grammy-nominated soundtrack by artists including The Who, AC/DC, Stevie Nicks, T.Rex, The Ramones, Cream, and Led Zeppelin. Whatever your level of ability or instrument, we have a role for you to play in this camp. You will complete your experience with a Friday night concert at Harper’s newest venue, our outdoor shell! As with the rest of our summer youth program, students will be under the supervision of InZone staff. All ability levels are welcome, but these camps are limited in size and by instrument so sign up early to secure your spot! Ages 8 – 16, LMY0229, 6/26-7/7

Students will get to play a wide range of styles under the direction of both School of Rock and Harper College Community Music Center faculty. From Harper is one of our most popular guitar instructors, Steve Vazquez. Vazquez currently plays in the band Swordtail Comets, an original rock band influenced by the melodic/eclectic sides of rock, metal, prog, grunge and post-punk. A previous version of his band, Blue Eyed Jesus, released a series of CDs on their own label.

See School of Rock in action with a video from our first collaborative concert in the J-Theatre, a production of Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
