Are You Cybersecure?

The term “cybersecurity” is always in the news, but what does it really mean?

Take one of our upcoming classes to learn what cybersecurity is and how to safeguard yourself from technology-related risks.


INTRODUCTION TO CYBERSECURITY (LSP0007): Learn more about the dangers of cyber-space and how to defend yourself from modern cyber-attacks. Self-defense measures to identify risks and threats, and how to avoid threats, will be covered. Discuss similarities in threats across corporate civilian users. This course is intended for individuals interested in safe-guarding themselves from cyber-crime and to gain an understanding of the ever-changing cyber threat landscape. Check our fall catalog for future class dates.


CYBERSECURITY ESSENTIALS (LSP 0010): This course will help you become more aware of technology-related risks and what you can do to protect yourself and your organization from them. This course will help you to understand security compliance considerations, social engineering, malware, and various other data security-related concepts. Security hazards and pitfalls will be explored, along with learning how to use technology safely and securely. Wednesday, 6/28, 6:00-9:15 p.m., TUITION: $89 FEES: $35, Harper Professional Center(HPC), Room 221.

About the Introduction to Cybersecurity Instructor: Tony Brown has over ten years of IT experience, primarily within information security and forensics. He’s currently serving as the cybersecurity leader for Fidelity Life Association, developing and managing their information security program. Brown remains active in the InfoSec community by assisting (ISC)2 in developing questions for their globally-recognized certifications and reassessing their credentials.
