Announcing our new Writers Group!
Become a member of our Writing Studio Writers Group and take your writing to the next level. Meet monthly with your peers to discuss and share your work, be inspired with new ideas, and stay motivated to achieve your goals. Writing Studio students of all writing levels and genres are welcome.
Inspiration: How many times have you said “someday, I’ll write that story…”? Make that someday today! Listening to fellow writers’ projects will inspire you to start and/or finish yours. Being in a writers group provides accountability to encourage your progress.
Support and networking: Struggling with writer’s block? Wondering how others handle sensitive topics in memoirs? Facing self-doubt? A writers group offers a sounding board and suggestions for overcoming your obstacles. Writing can be a lonely business. Connect with fellow writers and enjoy the camaraderie at our monthly meetings and/or communicate with your new friends online.
Writing Growth: Writing always leads to rewriting. With feedback from your peers, you can target and improve your rewrites to produce better pieces. Take advantage of our in-person or online critiques. Whether you are the writer or the reviewer, the experience will develop your writing skills.
With purchase of an annual membership, you are entitled to attend as many meetings as you wish, as well as have access to our private website. Memberships are valid from August 12 2019 – August 1, 2020 for a fee of $25. Click here to purchase the annual membership.
Writers Group Meetings
Join us at the Harper College Library (room tba) to meet with fellow writers, warm up with a fun 5-minute writing prompt, discuss your projects and share feedback. A Writing Studio instructor will lead the group, but discussions and feedback are peer-driven. Attend as many or as few meetings as you wish and bring printed copies of writing pieces for which you want the group’s feedback.
