As we head into a new school year, that for most will begin exclusively with remote learning, I find this TED Talk on “The Super Mario Effect-Tricking Your Brain into Learning More” one that offers amazing promise for ways we can adapt the new techniques for learning in the digital world. The highlights of the presentation include allowing mistakes to help develop creative thinking, and removing a structure that introduces the fear of failure in learning that can cause educational set backs and introduce doubt into the learner. I find this approach refreshing and highly relatable to the modern student.
