CE Writing Studio Instructor Announces New Children’s Book

Virginia Bailey has just released her new book, “If Kamala Can, I Can”. In this engaging story, Trinity and friends see themselves in the first Black female Vice President, Kamala Harris, and envision their hopes and dreams for the future.

Virginia teaches Introduction to Screenwriting, Screenwriting II and Introduction to Podcasting for Harper CE’s Writing Studio. Her favorite saying is, “Writers write because they have something to say.”

Raised in Gary, Indiana, Virginia, studied ballet from age four and was a principal dancer at the Edgerton Ballet School. She began her eclectic career as a dancer in musical productions and worked in film, video, and commercials. Also, she worked in front of and behind the camera. Virginia tutored and taught screenwriting for the Upward Bound Trio Program. Her screen and playwriting specialties include feature-length screenplays, theatrical musicals, and soap operas. For the past seven years, Virginia served as radio coach of an award-winning high school radio team. The student-produced programs aired on WEPS 88.9 FM weekly. In 2019, her students took first place, in the interviewing category, at the Terri Hemmert High School Radio Competition. As a result of distance learning, Virginia created the Maroon Buzz Weekly news team, where students broadcast school news and announcements weekly on YouTube.

A self-published author of children’s books, Virginia has written and narrated several audiobooks, eBooks, a softcover, and a hardcover book. Her passion is helping kids of all ages to envision, see, and experience the possibilities. Virginia wears many hats and is also a very active Illinois licensed real estate broker. Virginia earned a BA degree in Communications from Roosevelt University and an MA degree in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago.
