Do you have a favorite treat that just brings back great memories every time you eat it? My favorite is Rice Krispies Treats. As a child, my family would take a weeks’ vacation to the beach. My mother would always make Rice Krispies Treats to take. Nothing better than taking a break from the ocean to grab a Rice Krispies Treat for more energy. If you like chocolate, peanut butter, and butterscotch, try this delicious and easy recipe. (My mom layers hers, unlike the picture above)
Ingredients:
- 1 6oz package of butterscotch chips
- 1 6oz package of chocolate chips
- ½ Cup of confectionary sugar
- 2 TPSB butter
- 1 TPSB water
- ½ Cup peanut butter
- 4 Cups Rice Krispies
Directions:
Melt butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a large pot. Stir in 4 cups of Rice Krispies. Press ½ of the Rice Krispy mixture into an 8” x 8” pan and chill.
In a small pan, melt the chocolate chips, confectionary sugar, butter, and water. Spread this over the Rice Krispy mixture that has chilled. Add the remaining Rice Krispy mixture over the chocolate spread. Chill. Cut into squares to serve. ENJOY!
