Volunteers …Walk a Mile in the Shoes of those Facing Poverty
The Purpose: The poverty simulation experience will help participants understand what it might be like to live in a low-income family situation trying to survive from month to month with limited resources.
The Experience: Participants role-play the lives of low-income families during a 3-hour time block. They have the task of providing necessities and shelter on a limited budget during the course of four 15-minute “weeks”.
The Project Team is recruiting volunteers to serve during the simulation as community staff, resource personnel and to assist with debriefing the participant discussion at the close of the event. If you wish to volunteer or have questions, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
